Maryam is built to give women a considered, private way to learn Arabic. This Privacy Policy describes how Maryam collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit our website, use our applications, or contact us.

We collect only the information needed to provide a thoughtful learning experience, keep the service safe, and improve it over time.

• Account information, such as your name, email address, preferred language, and account settings.
• Learning information, including your goals, lesson activity, teacher notes, progress, and exercises you choose to submit.
• Voice and pronunciation inputs when you use an audio learning feature. These are used to provide the requested feedback.
• Technical and usage information, such as device type, app version, approximate location inferred from IP address, and feature interactions.
• Messages you send to Maryam or your assigned teacher through the service.

We use your information to provide, personalize, protect, and improve Maryam. That includes matching lessons to your goals, supporting your teacher relationship, responding to your questions, processing subscriptions, and maintaining a reliable service.

We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand what is working well. This information does not identify you personally.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only when it is necessary to run Maryam, when you ask us to, or when the law requires it.

• With your teacher, to the extent needed to support your learning and respond to your questions.
• With carefully selected service providers that help us operate the app, process payments, provide support, or secure our systems. They may use information only to provide services to Maryam.

You can update much of your account information in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information. You may be able to object to or limit particular processing.

To make a request, email hello@maryam.com from the address connected to your account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request. Deleting information may affect our ability to provide some features.

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Maryam, meet legal or accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. The appropriate period depends on the type of information and why we collected it.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so we encourage you to use a unique, strong password and contact us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Maryam serves learners in more than one country. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. When we transfer personal information internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
